If you own a DVD is it against copyright laws to post clips from your DVD onto youtube?

If let's say for example you have a DVD of Family Guy. Can you put your dvd onto the computer and then take clips from that dvd and add them into Windows Movie Maker and make a video and then upload that video onto youtube? Is this against copyright if let's say you own the DVD?
